Born and raised in the Lawrenceburg area, history and antique buffs Steve and Lisa Grigsby had always loved the historic building New Moon now occupies. Built in 1884, it is one of the oldest buildings on the Square and was Richardson Hardware until 1972. Several years ago, the couple had the chance to purchase the building and jumped at the opportunity.
For the next several years, Steve ran a retail furniture store in the building, but his love of history and antiques called. In 2004, he followed his heart and New Moon Antiques was born. Both have been thriving ever since.
"Collectors, dealers and tourists come through our doors from all over the South - in fact, the world - and meeting them is part of what I love most about this business. I see what I do as a way of aiding historical preservation, in part, by providing service and information for serious collectors. But perhaps even more, I enjoy encouraging historical interest in folks of all ages, and from all walks of life who may know little about antiques." - Steve Grigsby
